Tasting Notes: The B… Making the Perfect M…

Making the Perfect Movie Night with Rococo

January always seems to be the month when everyone requires a little extra TLC.January 2021 is certainly no exception to that rule, and though everybody’s choice of recreational activities is somewhat limited by the current restrictions, that shouldn’t mean we can’t treat ourselves every once in a while. That’s why we at Rococo thought we would present you with some perfect matches for films and treats (just in time for valentine’s day!), for what is a movie night, really, without some really good nibbles.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society – Paired with Praline Potatoes.

In 1946 a London-based writer begins exchanging letters with residents on the island of Guernsey, which was German-occupied during WWII. Feeling compelled to visit the island, she starts to get a picture of what it was like during the occupation.

Freshly dug – our Praline Potatoes are made with thick almond praline and are coated in layers of dark and white chocolate. Seasonal, fresh and delicious – no better way to eat your spuds! (We would not recommend, however, baking them into a pie!)

Bridgerton – Paired with A Bundle of Love

a bundle of love valentines chocolate hearts
It’s the regency era, there is love, romance, and more than a little drama! Whilst not technically a movie, Bridgerton pairs most excellently with one of our more romantic nibble bags. These smooth milk chocolate hearts, individually wrapped in red foil would make the perfect Valentine’s Day chocolate gift for any would-be suitor.

Enola Homes – Paired with A Parliament of Owls

While searching for her missing mother, intrepid teen Enola Holmes uses her sleuthing skills to outsmart big brother Sherlock and help a runaway lord.
It isn’t guaranteed that munching on these wise chocolate owls will improve your investigative skills, but it’s worth a try surely?

Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse – Paired with A Loveliness of Ladybirds

After gaining superpowers from a spider bite, Miles Morales protects the city as Spider-Man. Soon, he meets alternate versions of himself and gets embroiled in an epic battle to save the multiverse.
One of the most original superhero films to come along in years is best enjoyed alongside one of our most original nibbles: beautifully crafted busy ladybirds made out of delicious milk chocolate with notes of rich vanilla and caramel. They’re also the closest thing to chocolate spiders you’ll find this side of Halloween!

David Attenborough: Our Planet – Paired with Praline Quail’s Eggs

Our remarkably realistic Quail’s eggs made from French hazelnut praline, covered in chocolate and finished a fine sugar shell are a perfect companion for any nature documentary, and you know you’re in safe hands with Sir Attenborough

We have many more delicious nibble bags to offer, so before you settle down for your perfect movie night, why find out your perfect pairing.

Stay safe, and happy
